MoE organises Teachers’ Day celebration
The Ministry of Education (MoE) organised a Teachers’ Day celebration at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas yesterday.
Some 1,000 teachers attended the event, which carried the theme ‘Guru Berkualiti Pemacu Transformasi Pendidikan’ or ‘Quality Teachers, the Driving Force of Education Transformation’.
Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was the guest of honour.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a welcoming speech by Acting Director-General of Education at the MoE Marinah binti Orang Kaya Kaya Haji Yussof.
The event proceeded with a special address by the minister, as well as the presentation of excellent service awards to 363 teachers and staff members of the MoE, including teachers from private institutions.
The event aimed to show appreciation to teachers for their dedication and contributions towards the development of human capital in the country.
It also aimed to inspire teachers to continuously improve the quality of teaching and learning as well as to strengthen cooperation and relations among MoE officers and staff.
Also present at the event were permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, senior officials, heads of departments, senior education officers and officers at the MoE.
