Authenticity in Design Takes Center Stage at Hall of Fame Brunch
Role of Authenticity in Design Will Highlight Brunch at Hall of Fame
HIGH POINT — The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation will host the second annual Design Influencer’s Brunch during the April High Point Market.
The event is set for 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, at the Hall of Fame building located at 311 S. Hamilton St.
This year’s theme is “Authenticity: What it Means, How to Achieve It, and Why it Matters.”
“We plan to explore a variety of perspectives on authenticity — in product, in brand story, in leadership and in individual expression,” said Caroline Hipple, president of the Foundation board of directors and president of Norwalk Furniture.
A panel of industry leaders will delve into the role authenticity plays in design, brand building, and business success.
Confirmed panelists include:
- Michel Smith Boyd, interior designer, product designer and principal of SmithBoyd Interiors in Atlanta
- Kati Curtis, interior designer and principal of Kati Curtis Design in New York City
- John Loecke and Jason Oliver Nixon, interior designers, product designers, and principals of Madcap Cottage in High Point
- Designer Laura Hodges Studio of High Point
The discussion will be moderated by Hipple.
The Design Influencer’s Brunch was established in 2022 as an annual event, timed to coincide with High Point Market.
“The brunch provides a platform for industry leaders and influencers to connect, exchange ideas, and celebrate the power of design,” Hipple added. “It is open to those involved in the creation and marketing of home furnishings, including designers, manufacturers, retailers, and media.”
Tickets are available online at $50 per person. Reservations are required due to limited seating.
