Laois Councillor Closes "Shop of Bits and Bobs"

After 14 years in business, Laois Fianna Fáil County Councillor Cllr. Paschal McEvoy is closing his popular shop, "The Shop of Bits and Bobs," in Mountmellick. McEvoy cited changing shopping habits and the rise of online retailers as contributing factors to the closure.

The shop, known for its wide array of goods, from hardware and household items to toys and gifts, has been a fixture in the town. McEvoy expressed his gratitude to the loyal customers who supported the business over the years.

While acknowledging the difficult decision, McEvoy looks forward to dedicating more time to his council duties. The closure will allow him to focus on serving his constituents and addressing local issues.

A closing down sale is currently underway at the shop, with significant discounts on remaining stock. McEvoy hopes to clear out the inventory before shutting the doors for good in the near future.
