Outdated Home Decor to Ditch in 2025
Several home decor trends are predicted to lose their appeal in 2025, according to Southern designers. Among the items slated for retirement are chevron patterns, which are considered overused and visually tiring; mason jars repurposed as decor, now seen as clichéd; word art, deemed too generic; and shabby chic furniture, viewed as dated. Also falling out of favor are all-white kitchens, expected to be replaced by warmer, more inviting color palettes; tuscan-style decor, perceived as heavy and outdated; and mid-century modern furniture reproductions, with experts suggesting investment in authentic vintage pieces or exploring newer design movements.
