EVKS Elangovan wins Erode East bypoll.

The Erode East bypoll election saw a resounding victory for the Congress-backed DMK candidate, E.V.K.S. Elangovan, who secured a significant margin of over 66,000 votes. This win solidifies the ruling DMK's position in Tamil Nadu and comes as a setback for the AIADMK and its ally, the BJP. The by-election, necessitated by the untimely demise of Elangovan's son and sitting MLA E.V.K.S. Thirumagan Everaa, witnessed a high voter turnout despite the opposition's allegations of voter intimidation and cash distribution.
